ERP Platform Migrations

Crescent has the technical expertise to execute migrations from one hardware or OS platform to another, and to ensure the optimum architecture is designed.

In the SAP world, a heterogeneous migration means moving the entire SAP environment from one platform, such as HP-UX, to another, such as Sun-Solaris.  Doing a migration creates many of the same questions as a first-time install: The new system must be sized properly for performance and to meet or exceed the existing system's Service Level Agreements.  It is therefore necessary to revisit basic questions of architecture and design in an Architecture Workshop.

In addition, an SAP migration presents the system managers a unique opportunity to improve their existing architecture.  While preparing to migrate, the target platforms exist in parallel with the existing production systems.  System administrators have a unique opportunity run risk free tests on the soon to be production systems.  They can test and tune backup/restore scenarios, run load tests, verify disaster recovery procedures, experiment with AppServer Instance configurations, and other changes that would normally be too disruptive to try on the production systems.
